We know how hard it can be to find the right tools to run your business.
These are our tried-and-true tools that we currently use or have used to run our businesses. Take what you need and put it to work!
We recently switched all of our sites over to Siteground after multiple friends and acquaintances sang their praises. We were tired of slow loading times and lacking customer service.
We are SO GLAD we switched! Siteground blew us away with their phenomenal customer service. They seamlessly migrated everything over to their servers and it's been smooth sailing since.
To put it simply: Siteground offers simplicity, speed, and exceptional service. They also provide email hosting which is a *MUST* for us. We love them and wouldn't recommend using anyone else! Get started with a special low rate here!
Before ConvertKit, creators were pretty much stuck with generic email marketing platforms that are more suited for selling physical products than promoting content. Nathan Barry changed all that when he and his team developed this powerful email marketing tool.
ConvertKit's team is 100% devoted to supporting creators and their success through email marketing. ConvertKit isn't for everyone, but they made it that way on purpose. It's for professional bloggers, digital content creators, authors, YouTubers, podcasters, and designers of all kinds. It's not for selling widgets.
I recommend reading about their values and mission. Once you're ready to dive in, get a 30-day free trial at ConvertKit here.
We have tried Mailchimp, Aweber, and a few others and they do not even compare to the power-house that Klaviyo is when it comes to email marketing for ecommerce.
I wrote a blog post on why this is the best option for ecommerce email marketing here.
To sum it up, Klaviyo comes fully-stocked and ready to send emails right away. There is no coding required, it's incredibly easy to use, and it automatically syncs with your ecommerce platforms AND your facebook ads account. If you're selling physical products you need to start using Klaviyo TODAY. You're leaving money on the table if you don't!
Our number one recommended Ecommerce platform continues to be Shopify. Shopify's ease of use, outstanding customer support, and integrations with supporting software has placed it at the top of our list.
If you have something to sell, Shopify will make setting up your store so easy that it can be done in a day. Not only that, but Shopify has made using facebook ads incredibly easy with their built-in pixel integration. All you have to do is copy and paste your pixel into the provided space. That's literally it. No coding necessary. (Can you tell we're all about making things easier?) 😉
Shopify's vast plug-ins market means endless customizations that can all help improve your conversion rate. Their customer support is top-rated with chat, phone, and email available 24/7.
Our dropshipping stores are run through Dropified, which is a software that connects our Shopify stores to our wholesalers. Dropified seamlessly syncs your store's orders, customer data, and tracking information. It also allows you to place multiple orders at the same time, saving SO. MUCH. TIME.
You can register for Dropified's own webinar here, which will provide you with the information you need to get started with Dropified today!
If you run any type of business where you're working with client contracts, invoices, or proposals, Dubsado is going to be your new best friend.
Dubsado is an easy-to-use CRM tool that allows you to automate the entire process of on-boarding a client starting with the lead form all the way to the payment of their invoice. The customizations are endless and the support is unbeatable. Jake and Becca (the creators of Dubsado) have poured their hearts and souls into this software and it shows!
It would be perfect for freelancers of any kind, photographers, web developers, coaches, doulas... the list goes on. You can try it out 100% free here (no credit card required)!
We use Envato Market for all of our visual, audio, and other creative needs. It's pretty much a gold mine for the highest quality content out there! And the prices are perfect.
If you're looking for visual or audio elements for your website, I would highly recommend Envato Market. You can also subscribe to Envato Elements for unlimited downloads or Envato Tuts for tutorials on how to make just about anything!
For our recording trainings we use Screencast-O-Matic simply because it works well and it's super affordable at just $15 a year. You can easily record, pause, edit, upload, and publish your videos with this one piece of software!
Hiring help can be incredibly difficult when you're experiencing growing pains. You have to hire help to make more money but you have to make more money to hire help... we've been there.
Our virtual assistants from the Philippines are capable of completing any task that can be done online. We find them on OnlineJobs.ph, we have them complete a "test task" and then we hire them! The amazing thing about virtual assistants in the Philippines is that they require far less pay and are just as qualified as American VA's.
The reason you can pay them less (around $4 an hour) is because of the currency difference. $4 USD an hour to them is comparable to a comfortable middle-class salary here in the US.
It's a win-win, you get the help you need while your business grows and you also provide someone with an income to support themselves and their family.
You have a lot of options in the field of freelance work, ranging from fiverr which can get you a gig for as little as $5, to 99designs where you'll pay a premium price for top-rated freelancers.
We typically like to land somewhere in the middle, and we use Upwork.com for many of our freelance needs. The thing that I really like about Upwork, is that you create a job posting and then freelancers apply for your job, supplying their experience, rating, and references. It's incredibly easy to use and you can find the right person for the job fairly quickly.
The prices range from low to high, and we typically try to pay somewhere in the middle. We have never been disappointed with the freelancers we've hired from Upwork so I would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs freelance work done!
If you're in the market for a website but have no clue where to even start--start here. The X theme is the theme we use for all of our websites. It's drag-and-drop easy, no coding necessary.
Of course you'll need to get hosting and set up a Wordpress account before you think about the theme, but if you're ready to dive in and customize your site, this is the theme that does it all, easily.
They have a ton of pre-built layouts to start with, excellent support, and a TON of included plug-ins that you won't have to pay extra for. You can change anything and everything your heart desires without having to know a single thing about coding.
When our business started to grow beyond our own bookkeeping capabilities, we basically searched the entire globe for the best bookkeeping service for the best price. We're all about that efficiency.
We found Bench through a referral from our CPA and they are THEE best when it comes to keeping our books up to date, organized, and processed correctly. Their software is incredibly easy to use, it syncs with all of our accounts, and their (incredibly nice!) on-staff bookkeepers handle everything for us.
I could not recommend Bench enough for businesses of all sizes. Their prices are unbeatable for the service they provide and their customer support seriously knocks it out of the park.
